Some thoughts on Love
When you think of Love, what image pops into your
head?
Is it your partner, is your parents or your children, or
maybe it’s a pet, or maybe it’s that favorite dessert that you LOVE so much.
What makes these images feel like Love? Do you really know what love is? Many of these images feel like they bring you
joy, but they aren’t love. Some of them
make you smile, but is that love? Is
your love based in duality? Meaning, if
they do something you don’t agree with, will you still love them? What if they are really mean to you, will you
still love them?
I see love as a knowing.
It is a feeling, yes, but it is more like a knowing. Somewhere deep down inside of you there is
just love. This love doesn’t require any
outside influence…it is just a feeling.
How many external projections do you have which relate to love? This goes back to, I love my wife, I love my
mom, I love my dog, I love my car, I love my favorite chair, I love the rain, I
love the snow, etc. etc. etc.
Do any of these relate to you? Do you ever see yourself as Love?
The more I think about love, the more I realize it IS
ME! It isn’t you, it isn’t the chair, or
the partner, or the dessert…it is me that is love! You see, I think love is the realization that
we are each part of one creation. We
each are individual souls experiencing life together with the hope, or goal or
whatever that we will find love. The
thing is, we think love is outside of us.
We ALL want to be loved.
We all want others to love us!
And yet, we haven’t actually grasped the concept that Love is a personal
endeavor. Love is found within, not
found without! When we love ourselves,
we are no longer worried about whether others will love us…of course they will,
b/c we will love them. And, when we give
our love to others, they will in turn give love to us. (keep in mind that some people will reject
our love and that is fine. They are not
ready to learn this lesson yet) This may
be a little challenging to grasp. You
see, all of us are divine. All of us are
one with our creator. All of us are
equals. Regardless of the circumstances
of this lifetime, we are all here to learn.
Some have harder lessons than others.
While others appear to be living on easy street. No matter the situation, one shouldn’t be
judged for their lessons at hand. One
should be seen and respected for the journey they are on.
So, back to the main topic.
Is love something that can be found outside of you? I mean, if you don’t know what love is, how
will you know it when you have it? If
you love me today, and then I go out and do something stupid, will you still
love me tomorrow? What is it that you
love about me? Have you ever thought
that you simply love the behaviors that I exhibit, and not actually me? This requires a whole nother level of
thinking and questioning. I mean, do you
really love me, or do you merely love what I do, or what I say? This one gets a little tricky. But it is necessary to fully understand what
it is that you actually love.
